I wanted to urge you to please vote NO on Proposition 8 (titled “Eliminates Right of Same-Sex Couples to Marry”). The freedom to marry is a fundamental piece of our individual freedoms — just as important as free speech or free religion. To ban gay and lesbian couples from marriage is the equivalent of banning persons of a certain race or ethnicity — or age — from the same freedom in question. Please open your mind and your heart and find the courage to support this vital cause of equality with me today and vote NO on Proposition 8. What goes on in others’ bedrooms, or hearts, is not your business, and denying others the freedom to express their love and support of one another — exactly like any married man and woman — is fundamentally and morally wrong.
