A woman identified an Oxnard man as the man who sexually assaulted her in La Jolla, and he was ordered May 12 to stand trial on three charges. Marco Villasenor, 25, was ordered to stand trial on felony charges of committing digital penetration, assault with intent to commit sexual assault and resisting arrest in a March 2 incident in the 7700 block of Exchange Place. The woman, 25, told San Diego Superior Court Judge Joan Weber she was certain Villasenor was the same man who grabbed her and forced her to the ground. “I know I screamed the entire time I was on the ground. I never stopped screaming,” said the woman. “I was screaming at the top of my lungs.” She said the man approached her and never said anything. She said he penetrated her with his fingers. “Shock is quite an experience to go through,” said the woman. “I was scared for my life and wanted to get behind locked doors.” She called 911 and said she was surprised when police asked her to view a man being detained in the vicinity. She said she was surprised he was still there not long after she contacted police. “He had the exact facial hair, the same glasses. It was the perfect match,” she said of Villasenor. Two San Diego police officers also testified about arresting Villasenor in the 7700 block of Fay Avenue. On cross-examination by Villasenor’s attorney, Garland Peed, the woman acknowledged that Villasenor looked different in court than he did that night because of “different lighting and different clothing.” She insisted he was the same man. Villasenor has pleaded not guilty and has posted $100,000 bond. Weber ordered Villasenor to next appear in court on June 13 so a trial date can be set.
