The Ocean Beach MainStreet Association has announced the winners of the 30th annual Ocean Beach Chili Cook-Off held Saturday, June 27. Winners were as follows: • Lindsey Roland, Judges Award First Place ($200); • Betty Deever, Judges Award Second Place ($150); • Brock Scott, Peoples Choice First Place ($250); • Cory Loughlin, Peoples Choice Second Place ($150); • Tracy Scott, Peoples Choice Third Place ($100); • Hang Ten, Best Decoration; • Da Hula Hut (Tiny’s Tavern), Best 92107 Entry; • Brock Scott, Hottest Chili Award; • Steve Dohrman, Judge’s Special Award; • Bravo’s Mexican Bistro, Judge’s Choice, Restaurant Division; and • Bravo’s Mexican Bistro, People’s Choice, Restaurant Division. This year’s chili cook-off judges were Sam Bruggema of San Diego Fireworks, Don Mullen, Raymond Simas, San Diego County Supervisor Greg Cox, Carol Linton, Sally Bixler, District 2 City Councilmember Kevin Faulconer, San Diego Port Commissioner Mike Bixler and Bill Klees of the Point Loma Association.
