If you want to see an outdoor movie in San Diego, Point Loma offers many options, but none like the one-time venue of the outdoor patio at The Wine Pub.
On Saturday, July 30, from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., The Wine Pub will screen a classic wine documentary, “Blood into Wine.” The early 2010 film follows two characters navigating the transition from rock legend to wine connoisseur with mystery and humor in Northern Arizona.
Accompanying the film, The Wine Pub chef Malissa Sorsby will custom-create truffle popcorn: butter popcorn drizzled with hand-made, decadent chocolate sauce for a specialty snack unique to this event.
“Outdoor movies have become a staple in the Point Loma community during summertime, each offering something special and unique,” says Sandy Hanshaw, owner of The Wine Pub. “We’re staying true to the roots of who we are: a wine-loving, community-cultivating place where friends can get together for a laid-back evening in their neighborhood.”
The Pub encourages movie-goers to bring their own chairs, blankets and pillows to foster an event less like a restaurant and more like a night at home – but with table service. Guests can expect to enjoy the enviable San Diego summer evening under the stars with friends, neighbors and wine.
Tickets are $20 each and include one glass of wine or draft beer, gourmet popcorn and patio seats for the feature film, and may be purchased at www.thewinepubsd.com.
