Construction crews are closing all westbound lanes of Clairemont Mesa Boulevard over State Route 163 (SR-163) Wednesday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m, the closure includes the northbound SR-163 on-ramp.  At 11 p.m., the westbound and eastbound State Route 52 (SR-52) connector ramps to southbound SR-163 will be closed.  In addition, three of the four lanes on southbound SR-163 between SR-52 and Clairemont Mesa Boulevard will be closed.
Westbound traffic will be detoured to southbound Kearny Villa Road, to westbound Balboa Avenue, to the northbound and southbound SR-163 on-ramps. SR-52 motorists will be detoured to Interstate 805 and Interstate 15, respectively.  Changeable Message and detour signs will be in place to assist motorists around the detour.
Caltrans would like to remind motorists that the westbound lanes of Clairemont Mesa Boulevard between Overland Avenue and SR-163 have been narrowed and reduced to two lanes through to Saturday, July 16.
Drivers are reminded to Be Work Zone Alert and to Move Over a lane when safe to do so or slow when highway workers are present with amber lights flashing.
