Here are just a few places to be, and things to do, while celebrating the big game – or big date.
BIG GAME
Harbor Town Pub Super Bowl Party Card – This laid-back bar and community hub at 1125 Rosecrans St. featuring many craft beers on tap, burgers, and tacos is offering a special Superbowl Card for only $25. The special includes three draft beers, select calls, wines or canned beer, plus six raffle tickets for prizes during Super Bowl Sunday.
Big Game Watch Party – Goodbar at 1872 Rosecrans St. offers trivia, karaoke, live stand-up comedy, and special events like a St. Patrick’s Day block party will be holding a watch party on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 12. Yacht Party – Climb aboard Triton Charters’ 75-foot-long Catamaran to enjoy the game, booze, and beers, all while enjoying the views of San Diego Harbor from 3:30-6:30 p.m. at 2700 Shelter Island Drive. Tickets are $85 and include a three-hour Super Bowl watch party with multiple TVs at every angle, and snacks such as sliders, nachos, tacos; a fully stocked bar, prizes.
VALENTINE’S DAY
Playhouse Musical Theatre – The talented members of “Valentine’s Day Musical Theatre Workshop” will bring your favorite Broadway, pop, and Americana music to life on the Point Loma Playhouse stage, 3035 Talbot St. at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 14. Led by award-winning music director Jordan Miller, your Valentine’s Day will be filled with sweet sounds, romantic tunes and heartfelt joy for all the lovers in the audience. All seats are $14.
Tying The Knot – The San Diego County assessor/recorder/county clerk is reminding love birds wanting to “tie the knot” or renew their wedding vows on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14 to make their appointment now for a marriage license and ceremony, as appointments are filling quickly. Downtown San Diego, Chula Vista, Santee, and San Marcos offices will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a marriage license and ceremony appointments. “Walk-in” services without an appointment will be offered for lovebirds living in the moment only at the historic Waterfront Park downtown office. Appointments for love can be made at sdarcc.gov or 619-237-0502. The cost of a non-confidential marriage license is $70. If the couple would like their ceremony to be performed by County staff, the cost is an additional $88. Ceremonies are offered in English and Spanish.
Ocean Beach Valentine’s – Celebrate this season of love the weekend before Valentine’s Day on Saturday, Feb. 11, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Coastal Sage Gardening at 3685 Voltaire St. is spearheading the garden party hosted in the Sefton Gardens, 1890 Sefton Place. Once home to San Diego legend Joseph Sefton, these gardens are rich in history, and the goal is to start a community garden here where everyone can come work on the gardens, as well as reap the awesome rewards such as fresh vegetables and herbs. Liberty Station Galentine’s – Grab your besties on Saturday, Feb. 11 from noon-3 p.m. and head down to Moniker General at 2860 Sims Road for a charitable Galentine’s day event designed to celebrate you. Shop Moniker is teaming up with local celebrity Becca Kufrin (of “Bachelorette” fame) and her Bourdon sparkling wines to throw a Galentine’s day party for the ages. Cesarina – Say “That’s Amore!” at one of San Diego’s most romantic restaurants, Cesarina at 4161 Voltaire St. The charming trattoria stages an idyllic backdrop to fall in love again… over a bowl of made-from-scratch pasta, of course. Valentine’s Concert – The Valentine’s Super Love Jam concert for all ages is at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11 at Pechanga Arena San Diego, 3500 Sports Arena Blvd. The lineup is slated to feature seven artists, including The Isley Brothers, Ginuwine, Blackstreet, and Color Me Badd.
