There will be lots of free, fun and family friendly action on the beaches and along the boardwalk from Felspar to Thomas streets at Pacific BeachFest’s 21st anniversary celebration Saturday, Oct. 6 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The event is hosted by Discover Pacific Beach, a nonprofit business improvement district dedicated to promoting the beach community.
Action starts early on the sandy shoreline with PB’s action sports tournaments: Vavi 4Sum Social Volleyball, Pacific Beachfest 5k with an early wave and a main wave run, Venture Active Sunset Yoga Session, Silent Disco Beach Yoga with Outdoor Yoga SD and Journey To the ANOC World Beach Games San Diego-Beach Tennis Tournament.
Throughout the day, thousands of BeachFest-goers can enjoy live music on three stages. The Ocean Park Inn Stage will feature world beat dance music. The SDCCU Community Stage will showcase the best local talent, as well as Maverick’s Beach Club Stage, where the hottest DJs and reggae will be featured in the Beachfest Big Josh Beer Garden.
New this year is the Mix Lab DJ lounge presented by Kevita, where you can chill to cool vibes and sights. Shop and browse among the dozens of fine arts and crafts displays and visit the many eclectic shops and popular restaurants at the PB Merchant Sidewalk Sale.
No Beachfester will go hungry with the 11th annual “Best at the Beach Fish Taco Challenge,” where anyone can vote for their favorite fish taco. The Taste of PB Food Court provides a variety of local restaurants serving up tasty cuisines. Enjoy the ocean view and wash it down at the Beachfest Big Josh Beer Garden, while tasting beers from locally crafted local breweries, as well as Tecate and Strongbow. Pacific BeachFest is a party for all ages featuring Kids Action Alley. where the youngest dudes and dudettes will be kept busy with beachside rides as well as other free fun games and activities and free arts and crafts.
