SAN DIEGO — An SUV making a U-turn to travel westbound on the 1900 block of Market Street struck a pedestrian and drove off at about 11:13 a.m., Thursday, Sept 2, according to a report from the San Diego Police Department (SDPD). The driver of the SUV fled the scene south, driving the wrong way on 19th Street, the report stated. The driver was described as a Hispanic male wearing a Chargers jersey, and there was a Hispanic female passenger, according to police. The victim sustained a serious right leg injury and was transported to a local hospital. The SDPD Traffic Division is investigating.
