On Sunday Feb. 25, at 10:49 a.m., the San Diego Police Department Communication Center received a 911 call regarding a shooting in the rear parking lot of 3675 Midway Drive. The first police units to arrive found a 27-year old white male lying on the ground in the parking lot. He was suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper torso. Despite immediate medical aid given to the victim by officers, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. San Diego Police homicide detectives were called to the scene on Midway Drive to investigate the incident. The victim has been identified as 27 year old Alexander Mazin of San Diego.
The lone suspect in this case has been identified as 41 year old Ernesto Castallenos Martinez, whose last known address was in San Diego. Martinez is not in custody.
