Good food for a good cause — Tickets are now on sale for the 22nd annual Mama’s Day fundraiser on Friday, May 10 at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla at Aventine. Guests will enjoy culinary delights from San Diego’s top chefs at the poolside affair to benefit Mama’s Kitchen, a local nonprofit organization that cooks and delivers hot, nutrition-specific meals free of charge to men, women and children affected by AIDS or cancer throughout San Diego County.  Sam “the Cooking Guy” Zien returns as the event’s culinary host, with AJ Machado from “AJ in the Mornings” on Energy 103.7 as emcee. The event takes place from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. and tickets are $125 per person, $150 at the door. Purchase tickets at www.mamaskitchen.org or call (619) 233-6262. Career fair draws employers to La Jolla — HireLive will present a professional career fair event on Tuesday, April 30 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Embassy Suites at 4550 La Jolla Village Drive. Companies registered for the event include Fortune 500 companies, as well as newer businesses looking to expand. Job seekers are encouraged to come dressed professionally, prepared with resumes and ready to interview with hiring managers on site. For more information about the free event, call (949) 599-1870 or visit www.HireLive.com. Kids invited to get active and healthy— On Saturday, April 27, the La Jolla YMCA is celebrating YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day® with a free community event that encourages kids and their families to get moving and learning for a healthier lifestyle. The national initiative to improve families’ health and well-being takes place at 1,900 Ys and kickstarts healthier behaviors now and throughout the summer, a critical out-of-school time for children’s health. The La Jolla YMCA Healthy Kids Day takes place at 8355 Cliffridge Ave. from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and features educational activities like family yoga, jump house, edible art, sports games, gymnastic activities and more.
