LJCC plans grand opening
La Jolla Community Church will celebrate its new site with a grand opening this Sunday, Sept. 16.
The church, which was founded two years ago by about 20 families, held services at the Hilton Torrey Pines La Jolla until they recently bought a 3.6-acre church property at 4377 Eastgate Mall, in University City.
The grand opening begins with a 9:30 a.m. worship service, followed by a brunch, live music and activities for children. There will also be an informational fair. For information, call (858) 558-9020.

Boy Scouts sell popcorn
University City Boy Scout Troop 271 will hold their annual popcorn fund-raiser from Sept. 15 to Oct. 30. Money raised will help the scouts attend summer camp next year.
Popcorn will be sold at REI Sept. 22-23 and 29-30, as well as door-to-door or through [email protected].
