
Kevin May and Alex Pulido, seniors at The Bishop’s School, will continue their water polo careers at Stanford University in the fall.
As co-captains of Bishop’s varsity boys water polo team, Pulido and May were key factors in the team winning its fifth consecutive CIF San Diego Div. II championship title last November.
In his final season as a Knight, May had 111 goals, 47 assists and 38 steals. May was recently selected Boys Water Polo Player of the Year by the San Diego Hall of Champions.
The two-time Prep All-American and two-time All-San Diego Section performer posted career marks of 347 goals, 147 assists and 140 steals in helping the Knights win consecutive section championships. The Knights’ 2-meter man ranks fourth in the section for career steals and sixth for career goals.
May follows his sister Megan May, Bishop’s Class of 2004, to Stanford.
Pulido has been selected for recognition by the San Diego Hall of Champions as a member of the Breitbard All-CIF ” First Team for Boys Water Polo. He began playing water polo with San Diego Shores Water Polo Club in the fall of 2001.
By May 2002, Pulido led a young Bishop’s team to first place at The San Diego County Cup and was named MVP. He has participated on the National Development Team, training and competing in Serbia and Montenegro.
Pulido was named All-American as a 16-and-under National Junior Olympic Gold Medalist and earned first place in the Men’s 20-and-under Open with San Diego Shores team.
Pulido follows his brother Alfie Pulido, Bishop’s Class of 2000, to Stanford.
