While summer winds down, the 83rd racing season at the Del Mar Racetrack runs into September. Continuing with a lineup of racing and events, track goers can look forward to Del Mar’s biggest race, the TVG Pacific Classic, the first summer season College Day and more. Details below:
Saturday, Sept. 3 – TVG Pacific Classic – The most exciting race day at Del Mar features their richest and most prestigious race, the Grade I $1,000,000 Pacific Classic takes place over Labor Day weekend. The winner of this race gets an automatic bid to the horse racing world championships, Breeders’ Cup.
Sunday, Sept. 4 – Family Fun Day – Back at the track for the first time since 2019, Family Fun Day returns. Admission is free for anyone under 18 (must be accompanied by parent or guardian). This day is packed with a variety of free attractions, such as bungee trampolines, rock climbing walls, Pony Boy mascot meet and greet, and more.
Saturday, Sept. 10 – College Day – For the first time during the summer racing season, Del Mar is hosting College Day. Show your valid student ID for free admission to the track that includes exclusive access to Grandstand seating!
Fridays, Sept. 2 and Sept. 9; times vary – Turf Club Fridays – Introducing the newest recurring event at the track and a great way to experience racing at the renowned Turf Club. Normally a members-only experience, patrons now have access to the Turf Club without a membership on Turf Club Fridays and Taste of the Turf Club. Tickets include one Turf Club admission, two drinks tickets (premium cocktails, wine or beer), and a mouthwatering appetizer buffet. Dress code applies.
