LeTip Golden Triangle is enjoying a growth spurt. Since chiropractor Gary J. Miller has taken over as president from Michael Jones of FastFrame of La Jolla (who retired as club MVP), several new members have been added. Two significant positions were filled last month.
Torrey Pines Bank will be represented by Steve Purdum. The branch in the Golden Triangle is at 4350 Executive Drive, Suite 130. There is a Torrey Pines Bank downtown and in La Mesa. Purdum’s office is at the Clairemont Mesa branch that opened Sept. 1.
“I can go anywhere. I’m not geographically bound,” Purdum said. “A banker from Mission Valley told me how well she had done in LeTip, so I looked around to see which LeTip would be a good fit for me. I found a perfect match with a banking opportunity.”
Purdum has already been getting calls from LeTip members, and most discussions are about how the members can bring the banker new business.
The accountant’s position has just been filled by Louis Tommasino, CPA, whose office is at 3232 Governor Drive. To locate his office, go to Henry’s Marketplace and look for a building with a second floor. Find University City Cleaners and he and his associates are just above it.
“As part of our marketing campaign, our service, accounting and business management is promoted by word of mouth,” Tommasino said. “LeTip provides us with 30 individuals who we can talk to every week and who will be our sales team. And we will do the same for them.”
All of the LeTip regulars are on an active hunt for new members. Right now the categories targeted are the vacant handyman and auto mechanic positions.
“The last two members in those slots did a lot of business with us, and were happy to be members,” Miller said. “The only reason they left was because they moved farther away than was commutable.”
This spring, the open position of Home and Auto Insurance representative was filled by Minhtam N. Vu, who is an agent with Farmers Insurance in Carlsbad. Florist Natasha Steponova, whose Edelwiess Flowers is on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard, joined soon after. Betsy Heintz, a massage therapist who practices in Mission Valley, is also a new member.
Membership isn’t limited to business people who live and work in the Golden Triangle area. LeTip openings appeal to networkers all over. Some will drive long distances to find a group they fit into and then continue to make the weekly meetings.
The business of LeTip members is to bring business to the other members of the group. To see the open categories in the Golden Triangle club, go to the Web site www.sdletip.com. You may call anyone on the members list to ask about the LeTip experience or call Colleen Connery, the current membership chair, (858) 279-8147.
LeTip Golden Triangle meets most Tuesday mornings, 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Customarily there will be no meeting on a Tuesday morning after a national holiday.
