Mike McNeill, chair with the Pacific Beach Community Parking District (PBCPD) announced that the mayor’s office advised the parking group to postpone tonight’s election of at-large board members until the City Council can resolve the conflict of interest code.
Recently, the City Council has been discussing whether or not volunteer members representing community parking districts must fill out financial disclosure forms. The council will vote on the issue Tuesday, April 15.
McNeill said the parking group meetings will meet Thursday, May 8, at at the Pacific Beach Recreation Center, 1405 Diamond St., at 6:30 p.m.
The group was formed to improve parking and solve some of the ongoing issues regarding parking in Pacific Beach. Current issues being discussed include the possible installation of parking meters, the use of parking permits for residents and regulating oversized vehicles, such as motorhomes, commercial trucks and boats.
