Third runoff finally completes PCPB

The third Peninsula Community Planning Board (PCPB) runoff election was the charm in determining the board’s final composition April 22. Geoff Page received a simple majority vote, joining John Gott, Robert MacCulloch, Jay Shumaker and Patricia Clark as the PCPB’s new or returning members who will serve from 2010-13. Page served on the PCPB from 2006-08, including a six-month stint as board chair. He shared his thoughts on his role with the PCPB. “I wanted to get back on to give this other group of people that got closed out some kind of voice in the fairness of the board, and open it up to the public and be available if people need any kind of expertise with building projects or something with the city,” Page said. “I’ve been pretty disturbed by how they’ve made a big effort to really block and cut off public input,” he said. “Let’s see if that can be turned around.” April 22, 2010 PCPB third runoff election results Total ballots cast: 712 (357 to win) Geoff Page – 377 (52.9 percent) Suhail Khalil – 334 (46.9 percent)
