The oceanfront bar and patio at The Shores Restaurant in La Jolla will be the place to catch all the FIFA 2022 World Cup matches live from Qatar. The restaurant is set to host a series of viewing events in celebration of the international tournament.
Fans are invited to gather and root for their favorite team while watching the action on the nine newly installed TVs set throughout the restaurant. During the commercial breaks, set your gaze on the Pacific Ocean from one of the best spots to watch the waves in San Diego.
For eats, choose from a menu of rotating match day food and drink specials or the à la carte menu of breakfast (served until 11:30 am) and lunch (served from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.), as well as weekend brunch on Saturdays and Sundays (served from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.).
A sampling of selections from each of the menus include:
- Scrambled Egg Chilaquiles tortilla chips, chorizo, avocado, tomatillo, queso fresco;
- Banana Fosters French Toast with vanilla dipped challah bread with a splash of pirate rum and served with Vermont maple syrup;
- Lobster Benedict presented on an open face croissant with a spicy chipotle hollandaise;
- Huevos Rancheros combining a house made ranchero sauce, black beans, queso and fresh avocado on a corn tostada;
- A Sunrise Burger starring a quarter pound patty with jalapeño, bacon, American cheese and sunny side egg;
- Loaded Asada Fries with skirt steak, Mexican cheeses, salsa fresca, garlic ancho aioli, crema, jalapeños, green onions; and
- Baja Bowls with cilantro lime rice, black beans, guacamole, pickled onions, cotija cheese, lime, salsa fresca and a choice of Grilled Achiote Chicken, Chile Lime Shrimp, Asada, or Roasted Vegetables.
Wake up with beverage options including:
- The restaurant’s signature Bloody Mary made with Absolut Peppar Vodka and house made Bloody Mary Mix;
- A Mimosa Flight prepared with fresh mango, tropical pineapple, blood orange juices, and strawberry lemonade;
- A Koo Koo for Cacao mixed with Koo Koo Liqueur, Giffard Crème de Cacao, espresso oat milk, and cocoa puffs garnish; and
- Bottomless Mimosas and pitchers of Shores House Margaritas on draft during brunch.
Spirit free libations include Agua Fresca’s made fresh daily. There’s also an all-day cocktail menu and curated selection of craft beers, wines and bubbles.
The Shores Restaurant will open at 7 a.m. on World Cup match days starting on Sunday, Nov. 20 throughout the tournament including the championship matches on Dec. 17 and 18.
