TUESDAY, July 1
• Benny Lewis, Warwick’s Books, 7812 Girard Ave., 7:30 p.m., to present his latest book, Fluent in 3 Months: How Anyone at Any Age Can Learn to Speak Any Language from Anywhere in the World. Lewis, named a 2013 “Traveler of the Year” by National Geographic’s Traveler magazine, is a polyglot with average natural aptitude and has created a must-read for anyone wanting to learn another language.
WEDNESDAY, July 2
• Richard Torregrossa, Warwick’s Books, 7812 Girard Ave., 7:30 p.m., to present his latest book, Terminal Life. Well known for nonfiction writing, Torregrossa debuts his The Suited Hero trilogy with this action-filled series opener.
THURSDAY, July 3
• Shore Thing, MCASD La Jolla, 700 Prospect St., 5-8 p.m. The museum is offering extended summer hours in La Jolla, staying open until 8 p.m. every Thursday evening through August 29.
