A full closure of the Rose Canyon Bike Path will go into effect through Dec. 13 for crews to pave the final section of the new and improved permanent bike path. During this time, a “bus bridge” will be available to transport cyclists and pedestrians around the closure area.
What to expect: • The bike path is anticipated to reopen by 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 13. • Mid-Coast Trolley crews will facilitate a bus bridge using bicycle-carrying shuttles to transport cyclists and pedestrians around the closure area. The bus bridge will be available from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day, and signage will be in place to designate the pick-up locations. • Cyclists and pedestrians should allow extra time and expect some delays to account for bus bridge travel times between the pick-up and drop-off locations. • During the closure, crews will remove the temporary ramp currently in place between Gilman Drive and State Route 52.
Please note that the closure was originally scheduled to begin on Nov. 19 but has been postponed twice due to weather. If inclement weather is forecasted between Dec. 9 and Friday, Dec. 13, the closure may be postponed again and notice will be provided.
