To celebrate back to school season, non-profit San Diego Oasis invites local older adults aged 50 and up to attend its free annual “Taste of Oasis” showcase at its Grossmont Center location (5500 Grossmont Drive) in La Mesa on Monday, Aug. 29, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The event will also include an online feature with messaging from several instructors. Registration for this event is not needed.
“Taste of Oasis” will give local older adults an opportunity to sample San Diego Oasis’ upcoming season of classes, as well as meet instructors. From dancing, exercise and music to conversations with history, technology, art, and poetry instructors, attendees will enjoy sampling a variety of upcoming San Diego Oasis classes. Now that the world is entering the endemic, San Diego Oasis wants older adults to know that it is there to support and guide them through this time of transition, and is the “prescription” to combat isolation.
Attendees will have an opportunity to not only meet San Diego Oasis instructors, but also learn about and participate in the fall season’s classes before they register or become a member.
- Classes that will be available to sample at “Taste of Oasis” include the following:
- Cardio Drumming
- Zumba Gold
- Country 2-Step
- Line Dancing and Beyond
- Soul Line Dancing
- Better Balance: Free from Falls
- And more.
- Attendees will also experience various vendor resources. Coffee and light snacks will also be provided.
- From dancing, music and exercise to conversations with history, technology, art, and poetry instructors, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
- This year’s “Taste of Oasis” is sponsored by AARP, SDG&E, Sharp Healthcare, and United Healthcare.
