Adventure, food and high flying fun awaits those in attendance at this year’s City Ballet of San Diego spring fundraiser as they celebrate 23 years of ballet.
On Sunday, June 5, ballet fans are invited to “Take Flight with City Ballet” at Montgomery Field Airport for an afternoon of plane rides, food, auctions, live music and a company performance.
According to managing director Jo Anne Emery, the ballet fundraisers are always fun for the audience and the performers. Emery says this year is not going to be an exception and that fans should expect a wonderful performance by City Ballet.
Food will be provided by Seasoned Catering and Events as well as Michele Coulon Dessertier.
Those attending are asked to park in the general parking lot of Montgomery Field and take the provided shuttle service to the private hangar where the event will take place.
Tickets for the fundraiser are $100 and all proceeds from the event support City Ballet’s outreach and education programs.
Many of the performers in the dance company also teach a few of the classes available through City Ballet. There are a variety of programs offered that get children involved in dance. Discover a Dancer is an educational outreach program that gives at risk youth and children an opportunity to experience ballet.
According to Emery, a large part of the money from the fundraisers goes toward making sure the education and outreach programs can happen year round.
Tickets can be purchased at www.cityballet.org or at (858) 274-6058.
