The San Diego Human Rights Campaign and Svedka Vodka are teaming up to host a night of stand-up comedy to launch San Diego Pride weekend.

Alec Mapa and Dana Goldberg will headline “Stand Up for Equality,” July 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the Birch North Park Theatre, 2891 University Ave., North Park.

Nationally known for his roles in “Ugly Betty” and “Desperate Housewives,” Mapa has toured the U.S. with the Human Rights Campaign and the Mathew Shepard foundation, earning him the unofficial title “America’s Gaysian Sweetheart.”

A headliner on LOGO, Olivia Cruises and the Dinah Shore Weekend, Goldberg combines humor with humanitarianism, raising $200,000 for the Human Rights Campaign in performances across the country. “Curve” magazine readers named her one of the top five “Funniest Lesbians in the Country.”

Tickets, which benefit the Human Rights Campaign, are on sale now until July 1 and range from $28-$65, including VIP tickets that offer a reception with Mapa and Goldberg. For more information, go to sandiego.hrc.org/node/703.
