St. Peter’s By The Sea Lutheran Church will host an open house for the community 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, to showcase the complete remodeling of the church entrance, parish hall and up-dated preschool and campus.
For the church, located at 1371 Sunset Cliffs Blvd, these are the first major renovations since 1981.
The main feature of the renovation is the landscaping and larger welcoming entrance into the sanctuary, inviting all who pass by to enter and join in worship and other events.
Neighbors and community members are welcome to attend the open house to meet Pastor Karen Marohn and members of the congregation and preschool, tour the new facility, hear about some of the church’s activities and have some food.
“The original buildings and the past renovations have served our church and community well for nearly 65 years,” Marohn said. “The updating and structural changes to the facility that we are celebrating really allow us to say, ‘All are welcome and this remodel will guide our church and preschool well into the21st century.’”
The church has served the Peninsula area since 1946 and currently has a congregation of 280. More information can be found at www.stpetersbythesea.org.
