Softball registration due by Jan. 15
Registration forms for La Jolla Youth Softball’s 2007 season must be received by Monday, Jan. 15.
Player assessments for girls ages 10 years old and older are scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 20, at the fields behind Torrey Pines Elementary School, 8350 Cliffridge Ave.
Team announcements will be made Thursday, Feb. 1, followed by the start of regular-season games on Saturday, Feb. 24.
Games are played at the Torrey Pines Elementary fields.

Lifeguards hold swim tryouts at Mission Bay
San Diego Lifeguards are holding swim tryouts for available job opportunities at 9 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5, and Saturday, Jan 6, at 1000 West Mission Bay Drive at Ventura Cove near the Bahia Hotel.
The tryout consists of a 500-meter swim in 10 minutes or less wearing only a swim suit.
Candidates who pass the swim test will be interviewed the same day.
The salary range for an entry level Ocean Lifeguard position is $15.61 to $18.75 per hour.
