Registration for the 2007 season of La Jolla Youth Baseball recreational leagues will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18 and Dec. 2, across the street from the Torrey Pines Elementary School at the Cliffridge Field Snack Bar, 8355 Cliffridge Ave.
Registration is $165 for Shetland division players ages 5-6, and $185 for Pinto, Mustang, Bronco and Pony divisions, ages 7-14.
Parents should bring their child’s medical information, insurance card, doctor and dentist names and phone numbers and emergency contact numbers. If the child has never registered in the league, a copy of the player’s birth certificate is necessary.
Team manager, coach, team mom and scorekeeper volunteers are needed, as well as team sponsors to provide funding for field maintenance and league operation.

In Division IV action, The Bishop’s School rolled to a 25-18, 25-14, 25-14 win over Coronado. The second-seeded Lady Knights had a bye in the first round.
In the win over Coronado, Bishop’s was led by Nicole Ballon-Landa (11 kills), Katherine Fiedler (nine kills) and Natalia Wrobel (36 assists). In addition, outside hitters Jacqueline Rhodes and Carly Bollert had excellent matches.
Bishop’s played this past Tuesday night, Nov. 14, in the semifinals versus third-seeded Santa Fe Christian. The Lady Knights were narrowly defeated by SFC, 25-20, 21-25, 25-23, 26-24. SFC moves on to the championship on Nov. 18 and is guaranteed a spot in the States.
In other Division IV play, La Jolla Country Day (LJCD) School was eliminated by Santa Fe Christian by scores of 25-20, 25-15, 25-15.
LJCD (13-21) defeated Palo Verde in the first round, 3-0. Andie Sabourin had 10 kills and Cheyenne Giesecke led the team with 16 digs.
“It was a very strong game for all of the players,” LJCD head coach Peter Ogle said.
