Country Day meets Army Navy for homecoming
La Jolla Country Day School will play the Army and Navy Academy this Friday, Nov. 2, for Homecoming 2007.
The festivities begin with a battle of the bands at 3 p.m., along with the Middle School Carnival.
The junior varsity game kicks off at 4:30 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 7 p.m.
In between the games, at 6:25 p.m., the inaugural Torrey Athletic Hall of Fame inductees will be presented.
Inductees in the individual athlete category include Charles “Buzz” DuPont, class of 1964; Jerry Marsh, class of 1982; Isabel Schoepflin, class of 1991; and Rashaan Salaam, class of 1992.
The friends of sports category includes Lee Sawyer and his Torreys flag, and the late Kenner Michael. Coach Jack Wigley will also be recognized, along with the 1968 tennis team, the 1985 women’s basketball team and the 1990 football team.
An alumni welcome tent will be open from 4:30 p.m., and specialty foods will be for sale until 8 p.m.
