Bishop’s girls race to crown; LJCD boys 2nd
Two close, exciting races determined the 2007 cross-country champions of the recent Coastal Conference and its two participating leagues, the Coastal South and the Coastal North.
In the end, the San Dieguito boys and Bishop’s School girls successfully defended their conference and league titles. La Jolla Country Day School repeated as conference runners-up and Coastal South champs, and San Dieguito’s girls claimed the Coastal North title.
Top local boys performances included those of LJCD’s Alex Poyhonen (second place, 16:46), LJCD’s Dennis Roth (17:25), LJCD’s Alex Fleischhacker (17:41), and Bishop’s School’s Henry Su (17:45) and Andy Morgosh (17:52).
On the girls’ side, top performances came from Bishop’s School runners Elizabeth Schulze (first place, 20:22), Laura Wyatt (second, 20:27), Lauren Collins (21:27), Serena Glynn (21:32) and Alicia Triana (21:38).
