Just in time for the lull before the holidays, the third annual So Fine on Kline block party is set for Sunday, Nov. 8, between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. at various venues along Kline Street between Girard and Ivanhoe avenues. Admission is as free as the roster of activities is wide-ranging, with virtually no taste or age group left behind. Music will be performed by cover band Honeyrock, the Maurauk Brazilian Band and the Beatles tribute group The Rollers, support acts for The Routine. If music isn’t your thing, football probably is – accordingly, the site will feature two 80-inch TVs with NFL games. Crafts and jewelry from several vendors are featured too. Meanwhile, La Jolla Sports Club will host a spin-a-thon for charity, while a kids zone features crafts and art projects, inflatables, jump houses, slides and games. A chili cook-off is set to start at 11:30 and will last until the food is gone. Individuals and restaurants such as The Cottage, Hennesseys and Goldfish Point Cafe will be represented. Street tacos, KettleCorn, fresh fruit bowls, pizza, funnel cake, shaved ice and Thai food round out the menu; wash it all down at the beer garden, sponsored by Ocean House on Prospect, which will feature Karl Strauss, Fat Cat and Green Flash. A silent auction will feature more than 40 items for bid (including a hand-painted 9-foot egg by Joe Roper), and 50/50 raffle tickets will be sold throughout the day.
