After a year of planning and preparation, on July 12th 2010, Stefan Hochfilzer, founder of San Diego’s ClubXcite Youth Mentoring Organization, and ClubXcite mentor, Ari Mannis, are launching their Skate Across the USA fund raising trip to raise awareness and funds for San Diego’s at-risk youth. On July 12th, 2010 Ari and a team of skateboarders will depart San Diego and attempt to skate across the USA from Newport, Oregon to New York. They will be skating relay style, 100-150 miles a day, with a goal of finishing in under 30 days. All the money raised will be donated to San Diego Youth Services, a San Diego non-profit organization serving homeless youth and youth in crisis. The donations will be used to provide children with consistent and positive mentoring services by ClubXcite mentors who will support them academically and socially as well as build confidence in their strengths and support them through their weaknesses. This is ClubXcite’s first major fund raising event and any type of support is appreciated. Our goal is to raise $20,000.
