Sister Speak to play at Herringbone and other upcoming La Jolla shows

Sister Speak, A.K.A. singer-songwriter Sherri Anne, stops in at Herringbone on May 5. Performing in advance of a four-month tour that will see her play across the country and her native Canada, Anne is promoting a new EP, “The Stand.” Even those jaded by the overabundance of singer-songwriters will find much charm and many song hooks in Anne’s music, with a wonderful picking style that matches her soft, plaintive voice.

Anne has choice covers in her arsenal of tunes, but it’s her originals that make her a stand out performer, with songs such as melancholy ballad, “New York Sunrise” holding up well against the tunes of her musical heroes.
