Students at Mission?Bay High School took to the street in front of the campus in a mass show of support for their teachers on March 16. An estimated 200 to 300 students staged the two-hour walkout after lunch to protest the continuing practice by the San Diego Unified School District of annually distributing pinkslip layoff notices to teachers — most of which are typically rescinded before taking effect — putting faculty and student nerves on edge.
