As the warm fall air has started cooling down and the holiday spirit has started heating up, people have already begun to prepare for another joyful holiday season in San Diego. The holidays are a time to celebrate the close of another year and share with your loved ones just how much they mean to you. But with the holidays, comes the holiday shopping rush.

Lucky for you, holiday shopping has never been easier than in Little Italy, one of San Diego’s premier neighborhoods. This holiday season, Little Italy welcomes the return of Small Business Season, a month-long shopping extravaganza that highlights unique small businesses. Small Business Season kicks-off on Saturday, Nov. 26 where locals and visitors will have the chance to shop deals and one-of-a-kind gifts at the many boutiques, galleries and other shops within the Little Italy neighborhood.

Start your holiday shopping by heading over to Stroll or Valmare for a curated mix of handmade accessories and trendy styles for the women in your life, or stop by Atacama Surf Shop and The Lion’s Mane and James Coffee for some special picks for the men in your life. But if you’re looking to bedazzle your significant other this holiday season, be sure to gift them shimmering diamonds from Irelia Fine Jewelry. Whether you are looking for your friends, your family, your long lost relative or you pampered doggo, there are endless fashionable favorites for sale in Little Italy this holiday season.

Little Italy also has many galleries and vintage décor stores for that one friend in need of a little interior decoration facelift for their home. Gift them gorgeous statement pieces from D3 Home, Vitrium and Craftmosphere or stunning one-of-a-kind art pieces from one of the many galleries in Little Italy including Mee Shim Fine Art, Meyer Fine Art and Stefanie Bales Fine Art.

But it doesn’t stop there. The holiday season is not only about gifting but it’s about treating yourself! End your Little Italy shopping excursion with a fresh new set from Italy Nails & Spa, a sleek new hairdo from MAIDA Salon, Gloss the Salon, or The Little Italy Barbery and a rejuvenating facial from Hyde Edwards or Brazilia Skincare. Relieve yourself from the stress of the holiday shopping rush and shop local this season in Little Italy without the hassle.

We also know that some people might not be cut out for a full day of shopping which is why online shopping will also be available at many of the Little Italy local businesses. To ensure everyone gets the shopping experience they need, some businesses will also be offering virtual personal shopping and curbside pickup. Shoppers will also have more time to pick out their holiday favorites due to the extended business hours of some local shops.

It has never been more important to shop local. Help local businesses, the community, and the planet by shopping for gifts for everyone on your list in Little Italy this holiday season. Shop small. Shop local. Shop Little Italy.

Following your shopping excursion be sure to check out the magnificent Christmas decorations that line the streets preparing for the Little Italy Tree Lighting and Christmas Village. On Dec. 3, from 4-8 p.m., the Piazza della Famiglia and surrounding streets will be transformed into a winter wonderland filled with live music, entertainment, seasonal vendors, holiday treats and an important message from Santa Claus himself! Watch as the Piazza della Famiglia lights up with beautiful colors and erupts with joy at the traditional Tree Lighting Ceremony kicking off at 6:30 p.m. Plus, 10-foot-tall nutcrackers, kinetic tree holiday displays and lots of mistletoe will adorn the bustling streets, spreading Christmas joy throughout the neighborhood. Join us in sharing the holiday cheer with the whole community at this beautiful holiday celebration. But don’t forget to finish up all your holiday shopping in Little Italy beforehand!

Make it a November to remember in Little Italy by supporting local establishments and shopping small businesses all month long. With fabulous deals and extended hours, there is no better time than now to shop presents for everyone on your list. Happy shopping and happy holidays!
