Pat Sherman has joined San Diego Uptown News as assistant editor.
Sherman has worked in San Diego news media for 15 years, including six years as a staff writer for the San Diego Union-Tribune. In the mid-‘90s he began his journalism career as a music and arts writer for the San Diego Reader, during which time he formed the Urgent Writers, a group of local artists and poets that raised money for a San Diego City College scholarship fund. Sherman went on to serve for three years as editor of the San Diego Gay & Lesbian Times. His work has appeared in San Diego Magazine, San Diego CityBeat, Pasadena Weekly and other publications.
Originally from Detroit, Sherman has lived in San Diego since 1990, including six years in Normal Heights.
“For the past two decades I have witnessed and chronicled the exciting transformation of the Uptown district,” Sherman said. “I look forward to keeping residents abreast of this ongoing revitalization by offering comprehensive and up-to-date coverage of its communities.”
