SeaWorld San Diego has announced it will hold fireworks every Saturday night this summer at 9:50 p.m. through Aug. 31. There will also be a fireworks display Sunday, Sept. 1 at 9:50 p.m. The theme park added their fireworks schedule is subject to change or cancellation without notice.
Two years ago, SeaWorld put its summertime fireworks largely on hold, other than on the Fourth of July holiday weekend and for a handful of other special events, due to public opposition. A successful online petition drive was launched garnering more than 11,000 signatures against summertime displays.
SeaWorld fireworks detractors claim research shows “noise pollution from nightly fireworks causes harm to humans and other animals,” allegedly due to noise pollution.
