On Tuesday, Oct. 9, at about 11:42 p.m., the San Diego Police Department Communication Center received a 911 call regarding a person in the parking lot of 4013 W. Point Loma Blvd, who had been shot. The first police units to arrive found a black female with a gunshot wound to the upper body.
Paramedics arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital. Unfortunately, the victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The victim has been identified as 20-year old Octavia Williams from Phoenix. San Diego Police Department Homicide Detectives determined that 41-year old Joe Bennette Conway shot the victim and then fled the area before police arrived.
