If Judy White thought the [Peninsula Community Planning Board] meetings run by Cynthia Conger were run professionally and in a timely and clear manner, she is delusional. I have been unable to attend meetings since the change in board composition, but I did attend several meetings in the year prior.
The best I can ascribe to the meetings is that they were dysfunctional, often a comedy of confused errors, and cast disgrace on the process. It was easy to understand why applicants dreaded the hearings and why the city planning folks often disregarded or overrode the recommendations.
There was little order and much confusion, frequently regarding the content of the motion before the board.
I had great hopes that the new board would restore some order to the process and regain some of the prestige and clout of prior years. There are some good people on the board. I am disappointed in the apparent lack of leadership and organization that is being reported.
