San Diego Strike Force makes roster additions

The San Diego Strike Force recently announced that the team has signed defensive backs Omar Cook, Deshawn Hawthorn, E.J. Johnson, and Shaquille Moseley, wide receiver/defensive back Cass Wise, wide receiver Jamari Williams, and re-signed linebacker Mikell Mair. 
Cook (5’11, 190) previously played in the Indoor Football League for the Nebraska Danger (2016, 2014) and Billings Wolves (2016, 2015). While suiting up for the Wolves, the Riverside native finished the 2015 season second on the team in tackles with 71 (46 solo), 2.5 tackles for loss, one interception and eight pass breakups. During his college career at Southern University (2010-13), he ranked first on the team for defensive backs with 77 total tackles, tied for first on the team with three interceptions and tied for second on the team with 45 solo tackles. He was selected to the 2014 FCS National Bowl All-Star Game as a starting defensive back.
Hawthorn (6’0, 190) played college football at Western New Mexico University, where he tallied 30 total tackles, two tackles for loss, a team-high three interceptions, four pass breakups and seven passes defended in his junior season (2013). He attended Chaparral High School in El Cajon, and helped lead the Pumas to the CIF Inland Division Section Title during his senior year, when he also was named Team Defensive Back MVP, a second-team All-League Defensive Back and second-team All-CIF.
Johnson (5’10, 195) previously played for Champions Indoor Football teams the Dodge City Law and Salina Liberty. The Bakersfield native was named the Northern Athletics Conference Special Team Student Athlete of the Week (2012) while playing college football for Rockford University.
Moseley (6’3, 230) played his college career at College of the Sequoias and most recently played for the Koç Rams in Istanbul, Turkey (2016-17).
Wise (5’10, 175) is a San Diego native who played high school football at San Diego High School and college football at Humboldt State University. He previously joined the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League for training camp.
Williams (5’11, 180) played one season of his college career at Saddleback College, where he earned All-Conference Special Teams honors before transferring to Arizona Christian University. In addition to earning All-League Special Team honors at Vanden High School in Fairfield, California, he also earned All-County Track honors in the 4×100 relay.
Mair (6’2, 240) previously played in the Indoor Football League for the Colorado Crush and Billings Wolves. While playing college football at Texas A&M University-Commerce, he recorded 14 tackles and had at least one tackle in five games (2008). Prior to transferring to A&M Commerce, he tallied a team-high 70 tackles as a sophomore at Santa Ana College and totaled 95 tackles and seven sacks. While playing high school football at Tustin High School in Tustin he was a two-sport two-year letter winner in football and basketball.
