The San Diego Opera elected its 2006-2007 board of directors and executive committee members during the annual meeting held on June 27 at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla.
Many of those elected to the board and committee are La Jolla residents or are prominent business leaders in the area.
“To be a board member of San Diego Opera requires a huge commitment of time and energy, and I am always impressed by the quality of member this company continues to attract,” said Ian Campbell, San Diego Opera general director. “The commitment these community leaders make in ensuring that opera continues to thrive in San Diego is extraordinary. All the staff looks forward to working with this vigorous team to take San Diego Opera into a strong artistic and financial future.”
Drew Senyei, a La Jolla resident, continues his second year as the president of the board. He obtained his medical degree from Northwestern University and completed his residency training at the University of California, Irvine’s Medical Center. He is managing director and general partner of Enterprise Partners, a venture capital firm specializing in high-tech and health-related business. He is also an inventor with more than 30 U.S. and foreign patents and pending applications in a variety of fields.
La Jolla residents continuing their membership on the board include: President-elect Peter Farrell; Vice President of Special Projects Harry F. Hixson, Jr.; Vice President of Marketing and Membership Graham Bryan, and Secretary Claire Reiss.
New board members include La Jolla residents Jeanne Jones and John Pendleton.
Employees of prominent La Jolla businesses are also active in the committee, including Bill Ruddy, vice president of finance at Ernest and Young, LLP in La Jolla; David Kleinfeld, attorney and shareholder with Heller Ehrman White and McAuliffe; and new board member Dan Yates, president and CEO of Regents Bank in La Jolla.
