Users of San Diego International Airport may experience traffic delays on the roadways accessing the airport on Sunday, March 8 due to the annual San Diego Half Marathon. The race is scheduled to begin at 7:15 a.m. near Petco Park in downtown San Diego. Roadways used to access the airport, including Pacific Highway, Ash Street, North Harbor Drive, Rental Car Access Road, and Harbor Island Drive, will be impacted beginning around 7 a.m. until approximately noon.
North Harbor Drive in front of the airport will remain open at all times, but may be reduced to one lane in each direction. With almost 8,000 runners and volunteers expected for the event, airport users should allow extra time when coming to the airport.
