Republican Women of California, Navajo Canyon returned to the Legacy Hotel in Mission Valley in September for our monthly luncheon with more than 100 guests to hear from Thomas Del Beccaro – a radio, TV commentator, and keynote speaker.
He is also the author of The Divided Era, the historical perspective that explains the more the government decides, the more it divides. Del Beccaro is also a former chairman of the California Republican Party.
Del Beccaro makes more than 450 radio and TV appearances a year throughout the country. He has appeared on Fox, Fox Business, Newsmax, OANN, KUSI, The Big Business show, KTVU and KRON4 in San Francisco/Oakland. Our second guest speaker for the meeting was Paula Whitsell, chairwoman for the San Diego County Republican Party.
Whitsell has been a small business owner in South Bay since 2004. She lived and worked in Brazil for 17 years before returning to the San Diego area in 1989 with her family. She has been active with the Chula Vista Bonita Republican Women as well as the San Diego County Republican Women since 2009. She has been the Communications Chair for the Republican Party of San Diego editing and writing for the monthly newsletter since November, 2014. Having seen socialism in action while in Brazil, she is an activist voice for Republican values.
Next month, we look forward to our annual fashion show.
This fun event features models from RWCNC and we will be hearing from Stephanie Brown from Saved in America. We’ll also have fundraising to support Saved in America, a non-profit organization of volunteers who are former law enforcement officers, special operators, and Navy SEALs. Since December 2014, Saved in America has assisted in rescuing more than 250 children nationwide from human trafficking.
Recently, California SB918 went before the state legislature, which proposed creating additional “sensitive areas” where concealed carry weapon permit (CCW) holders would not be able to bring their firearm, effectively making it impossible for law-abiding CCW holders to lawfully carry their firearm. The bill failed by just one vote – highlighting how important it is to vote for the candidates that support your values.
Election season is gearing up – ballots drop in about a month. It is time to get involved and make your voice heard. You can support candidates with your time, your money, and most importantly, your vote. Reach out to any candidate that you support to see how you can help with easy, fun activities such as envelope stuffing, making phone calls, door knocking, and more.
