The La Jolla-Monaco Cultural Committee presented dinner and an Isabell Kristensen fashion show on Sept. 8 at the Estancia Hotel.
Dianne York-Goldman, CEO of La Jolla Spa MD, was chair for the evening and Andrea Naversen was the Mistress of Ceremonies.
Kristensen is an international couture fashion designer with shops in Monaco and London. She has dressed many celebrities, such as Ivana Trump, Nicole Kidman and Sarah Ferguson.
This talented designer makes stylish creations that accentuate the feminine silhouette. Her glamorous runway show was a steady stream of showstoppers. The much-loved Rita Coolidge delighted the audience by modeling a red Isabell Kristensen design. Leonard Simpson and Claudia Breurer produced this fabulous couture fashion show.
Kristensen presented this fashion show to benefit the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition in honor of Stephanie Strauss, who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in the fall of 2005. Strauss was honorary chair. The National Ovarian Cancer Coalition raises awareness and promotes education about ovarian cancer. This show coincides with the National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, which is every September.
York-Goldman met Kristensen in Monaco when she represented the La Jolla-Monaco Science and Cultural Exchange Committee. Kristensen agreed to come to La Jolla for this haute couture fashion show. La Jolla Spa MD will be the official boutique in America for Kristensen’s new “Dreams” perfume.
