San Diego Chargers Quarterback Philip Rivers held his first football camp for youth at the University of California, San Diego on July 10 and 11. All proceeds from the camp went toward the Rivers of Hope Foundation, which helps abandoned and orphaned children, and Rivers announced during the football camp that he would also contribute a $25,000 grant to San Diego’s Angels Foster Family Network. In addition, Twenty-five youth from the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito were invited to the Camp at no cost. The Old Spice Philip Rivers Football Camp hosted a total of 200 boys and girls ages 7-14 and gave children a chance to play football with Rivers. Campers learned about all aspects and positions of the game, and each camper received an autograph and a picture of themselves with Rivers.
