DOWNTOWN — The Downtown YMCA will hold its 41st annual Resolution Run on Friday, Dec. 31 in Balboa Park at Sixth Avenue and Laurel Street. The 5k run and one-mile walk will begin at noon. They will be followed by a 20-item raffle with more than $2,000 in prizes. The San Diego Zoo, the Broken Yolk Café, Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza and many other merchants and organizations donated prizes to the raffle. There is no cost for the event, but donations ranging from $10 to $25 are suggested. Proceeds from the event help fun programs for low-income or at-risk youth at the Downtown YMCA, where more than 90 percent of the youth and families served live below the federal guidelines for poverty, according to a statement from the YMCA.
