
Harpist Sonia Marie Olivas will enchant La Jollans with her music selections at the Chateau La Jolla Inn today, Sept. 22, for a senior happy hour from 3 to 4 p.m. The event is open to prospective senior residents and those who wish to provide temporary hotel accommodations for loved ones at the luxurious Mediterranean-style residential facility for seniors 55 and older. Chateau La Jolla Inn is located at 233 Prospect St. Olivas, who is also secretary of the La Jolla Town Council, started playing the harp 14 years ago. She has a bachelor’s in music from California State University, Northridge and plays a variety of styles, including classical, Latin, Broadway musicals, pop and modern, Celtic, Jewish, Christmas, movie themes and original compositions. Olivas will also play at the La Jolla Art Association’s (LJAA) second annual black and white juried exhibition artists’ reception and awards presentation on Sept. 24 from 6 to 9 p.m. The event will take place at the LJAA Gallery, located at 8100 Paseo del Ocaso, Ste.
