The possible loss of the La Jolla post office will once again draw La Jollans out of their homes and into a community forum to brainstorm how the building might continue serving the region in the event it loses its postal services. Today, March 29, will be the “Re-Imagining Our La Jolla Post Office” Community Input meeting, hosted by the Save Our La Jolla Post Office Task Force and held at the La Jolla Recreation Center, 615 Prospect St., at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will feature a panel of four community members representing the arts, community planning, history and development, according to the task force’s interim chairwoman, Leslie Davis. Panelists will present their ideas for possible future use of the building, after which input from the community will be encouraged. “We will document all of the input and send it to our community leaders,”?wrote Davis in an email. The task force will also be collecting signatures for another petition to be sent to the U.S. Postal Service, much like the one sent to the Postal Regulatory Commission requesting the Wall Street post office be taken off the chopping block. — Kendra Hartmann
