San Diego police are seeking the public’s help in finding a man suspected of molesting two teenage girls in the Point Loma area on separate occasions ” the most recent case occurring two weeks ago.
According to Mònica Muãoz of the San Diego Police Department’s media relations office, two teenage girls were walking on the 2700 block of Chatsworth Boulevard near Point Loma High School on Friday, March 9. As the girls passed the suspect, who was walking in the opposite direction near Freeman Street, the suspect ran up behind them, grabbed one of the girls and sexually molested her.
The girls screamed and the suspect ran south on Clove Street, Muãoz said.
The crime follows a similar pattern where two girls were walking home on the 4300 block of West Point Loma Boulevard on Wednesday, June 27, at 11 p.m. Similarly, as the girls walked past the suspect, again traveling in the opposite direction, he came up from behind and grabbed one of the girls and fondled her sexually, Muãoz said.
The girls screamed and the suspect fled south toward Famosa Boulevard, she said.
Police have released a composite sketch of the suspect, described as a white male, in his late 20s or 30s, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall, with a stocky build, brown hair, wearing prescription glasses with rounded brown frames.
He was last seen wearing jeans, athletic shoes and a sweatshirt or jacket, Muãoz said.
“We believe the same suspect is responsible, based on what he did and the description from each of the victims,” Muãoz said.
