Point Loma Nazarene University senior libero Christin Fisher was named the PacWest Defender of the Week for Sept. 5-11.
Fisher averaged 7.6 digs per set for Point Loma in the La Jolla Pod of the D2 West Region Volleyball Showcase. She had at least 20 digs in all four matches, including a career-high 37 in the five-set win over UC San Diego. Point Loma held UCSD to 44 kills and a .156 hitting percentage. Fisher is now 237 digs away from the all-time Point Loma record. She leads the PacWest and ranks fifth in the nation in digs per set (6.50).
The PLNU volleyball team will open PacWest play this week. The Sea Lions will welcome in Dixie State on Friday, Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. and Azusa Pacific on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 3 p.m.
