PLNU’S ‘Superfest’ to return Jan. 26

SAN DIEGO – Superfest 2013 will be held on the campus of Point Loma Nazarene University on Saturday, Jan. 26 starting at 9:45 a.m. Superfest offers members of the community a chance to connect with professional athletes such as Adrian Gonzalez, Jacques Cesaire, Darrell Stuckey, Nick Hundley, Nick Novak, two-time Heavyweight Boxing Champion Chris Byrd, and a handful of others as they share their secrets of how they play and live like champions. This free family event is full of clinics, games, prizes, giveaways and includes the chance to watch a PLNU basketball doubleheader. Sports and activities such as baseball, basketball, soccer, volleyball, mixed martial arts, speed clinic, and more will be presented by the professional athletes and PLNU team members. The doors will open at 9 a.m., with the program scheduled to start at 9:45 a.m. There will be a time for autographs and photos with the professional athletes starting at 11:30 a.m. The event then will have a two-hour session starting at noon on the athletic facilities throughout the Point Loma campus for skill development, instruction and competitions in baseball, golf, track, soccer, tennis and football. PLNU will offer free admission to its basketball doubleheader against Holy Names starting at 2 p.m. Those interested in attending Superfest 2013 can register today by visiting http://superfestsd.com/superfest-registration, or they may register on the morning of the event. Participants are encouraged to bring athletic gear, athletic shoes and/or cleats, and cash for meals or snacks. For more information, please visit www.superfestsd.com.
