The Point Loma volleyball team will host its annual Seaside Classic Tournament on the campus of PLNU on Sept. 4-5. The Sea Lions will welcome in UC San Diego and San Francisco State from the CCAA, Colorado Mines and Regis from the RMAC and fellow PacWest member Concordia (CA) in one of the premier NCAA Division II season opening volleyball tournaments.
Matches start on Friday, Sept. 4 at 8:30 a.m. There will be six matches a day with the final match scheduled for 8 p.m. PLNU will play matches on Friday at 3:30 and 8 p.m. On Saturday the Sea Lions are set to play at 1 p.m. and 8 p.m.
PLNU returners five starters, including preseason PacWest Player of the Year Savannah Wedemeyer and all-conference outside hitter Heather Leavitt. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for non-PLNU students and seniors. Children under 12 are free of charge.
