The Point Loma High football banquet was postponed several times before finally taking place at Tom Ham’s Lighthouse on Harbor Island.

The Jimmie Howard Trophy honors Jimmie, a Marine who received the Congressional Medal of Honor for saving many men under his command in Vietnam when they were greatly outnumbered by Viet Cong. He retired here in Point Loma and became a varsity football assistant under famed coach Bennie Edens. The award goes to a player “you would most like to go to war with.”
